Silent protector, January 27, 2012 This review is from: SLEEP TITE by Malouf CRIB Protector - 100% Waterproof-Eliminates Dust Mites -15 Year Warranty (Baby Product) If you have bought water proof protectors before you know how loud they can be from the plastic lining. I hate this and have been shopping around for a good one. I saw all the good reviews on the Malouf ones and decided to try it. I love them! They are silent, they have a nice towel like terry on the top that keeps the liquid ( for lack of a better word) from dripping down, and they don't make you sweat. I also bought the ones for my pillow and would highly recommend them for droolers and hot heads.

I really wish I would have had this mattress protector for round one. After a sick kid (many times), potty training, and just the usual wear and tear... our old mattress took a beating and was SO gross that I threw it away and buy a new one! I am so glad that I bought this to protect it. Nothing gets through it... my mattress still looks brand new! I like this protector because it is really thin/soft yet still gets the job done. The reason why we didn't use our protector with our first kid was because it was too plastic-y and loud... we could hear it every time my baby moved. This one is perfect. FIVE STARS for sure.
P.S. I also have one of their protectors for my bed (Queen). Because let's face it.... kids end up in your bed on occasion, especially when they are sick. Not to be gross... but the protector has saved my mattress from throw up SO many times!

Overall, each of them appears to do exactly what they say it will... And the price on Amazon was outstanding - no need to pay 2x the amount anywhere else. We've washed them all a number of times, and so far no issues. I'd recommend drying on the low setting, as the instructions say.
I gave 4 stars because the full size mattress protector is designed to fit a wide variety of mattress depths and is a little big on our full. Not a huge issue, as it does stay tight against the mattress, but requires a little more work to ensure the extra material is tucked neatly.
